Since retiring my main part-time job/pocket money earner is delivering pizzas and the food service industry really wants you to stay away when sick so you don't make the customers sick. That said none since I retired and if I remember right I sold back about 4-5 months worth of sick leave back to Uncle Sam when I did retire. Been pretty lucky about ever having problems/illness to deal with.

I havent missed an unscheduled day of work in 8 years. Only reason I missed one then was for my grandma's funeral. Technically it could have been considered scheduled too since a gave a three day notice.

When I was a kid Id go in sick as a dog. Never missed a day for quite a few years.
I picked 2 days. Anymore, I use my sick days if Im ill. No need to get others sick.
It helps you can check in from home if needed now too.
