Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

The only complaint I have so far is how muted EVERYTHING is. I know it's Zach Snyder but color is a good thing. Taking WWs red blue and gold and turning it into brown then taking aquamans Orange and green and turning it into gray is just depressing. He muted Superman but kept the color palette of blue and red, but ignoring the true colors of the others is just too annoying. I think Aquaman looks good in the photo but give it some color man, I mean Jesus.

I agree. Maybe it's overcompensation for wanting to be taken seriously.

I do like the cartoon - caught one the other night - very well done, for a cartoon. :-)

I think it looks less like a Saturday morning cartoon with the muted colors, which also separates it from Marvel.

As long as the stories are well written and delivered, I'm good with the look. Plus, Aquaman looks way cooler than if he was wearing and orange top with green bottoms.

Agreed. I think they maxed out how badass the orange/green combo would look in Injustice.

Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor head looks perfect… for me to crack against a wall. pic.twitter.com/DJn2fSdVGn

I've watch "Man of Steel" multiple times now and while I didn't dig it initially, I get his vision now. I really have high hopes for the new DC universe. They're killing it with casting. "The Suicide Squad" couldn't have cast better actors.

Agreed...I liked Man Of Steel but I would've wanted more Clark growing up story rather than some flashbacks and them crazy fights. I'm looking forward to the sequel and SS

I thought it was just enough growing up story. FFS.....EVERYONE knows the back story of Superman.

Overall, I enjoyed MoS, but after watching how Snyder killed Jonathan Kent, I don't want any more of his back story. Him dying in a tornado still pisses me off.
