CaliforniaChief 03:07 PM 12-16-2019
Chiefs get Suggs, per Rapoport.

Former #AZCardinals pass-rusher Terrell Suggs was claimed by the #Chiefs, source said.

Under contact in 2020 for $2M.

That’s cheap for a 5-7 sack guy.

he Arizona Cardinals put Terrell Suggs on waivers and the Kansas City Chiefs were the winning team with a waiver claim.
In a surprising turn of events on Monday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs were named as the team with the winning claim on recently released linebacker Terrell Suggs, per Terez Paylor of Yahoo! Sports.

The Arizona Cardinals released Suggs last week with only three games left in the regular season, and Suggs stated at the time that he might not report to any team but the Baltimore Ravens in hopes that he would be able to, once again, play for his longtime team. The Ravens are the top seed in the AFC, which made it unlikely that Suggs might fall all the way to them.

For their part, the Chiefs apparently put in a claim and were awarded Suggs in the waiver order. Fortunately for Kansas City, Suggs made it clear pretty quickly that he would report to the team after all, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

The addition of Suggs comes at an ideal time for a team that just lost two of its best overall pass rushers in recent weeks. Defensive end Alex Okafor found out on Monday that he will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, and pass rusher Emmanual Ogbah went down with the same a few weeks ago.

Suggs had 5.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles for the Cardinals in 13 starts this year in a homecoming back to the area where he graduated high school. However the Cardinals season fell apart pretty quickly and the team has been eliminated from postseason play for a bit now. Suggs played for the Ravens for 16 seasons before joining the Cardinals in 2019.

I'm guessing the Cards wanted to play some younger guys with their record where it's at, maybe someone off the practice squad or on the official 53... Doesn't make sense for them to make Suggs inactive for the last 3 weeks and pay him $550k.

Why shouldn't he. Clark is being paid a mountain of money. Suggs, not so much.
