Watkins got open on the near pick. He did his job. Mahomes should have just got his body around so he wouldn't need to throw across his body.
And the pick wasn't anyone's fault but Mahomes. It was just terrible from the snap. Everybody on the falcons team knew where the ball was going and the throw made it even worse. Posted via Mobile Device [Reply]
Throws a pick. Reid keeps calling passing plays and Pat responds almost immediately. The kid shook it off and made a play. Hard not to love it. [Reply]
If it wasn’t for the bad call on Swartz he would have had a TD first half. He looked good. I’d give him a B. The near pick was a good throw but Watkins, who had a bad game, was supposed to come back for the ball and he didn’t.
I don’t mind deep pass INT but that was a bad one. He stared down his receiver and it allowed the safety to INT it. Watkins should have come back for the ball but I think he was pushed by the defender which would prevented that.
Everything else looked good IMO. It’s going to be a fun year. Not too man QBs in nfl history could have made that throw tonight. [Reply]
That int was so ugly. Watkins didn't even try for it but I think he say the safety over the top and just assumed the ball wasn't coming his way. That's the kind of thing that will become more rare but I have to only go with a C just because of how ugly that damn thing was. [Reply]

Inexcusable, IMO. That's not a "learning experience", that's just being flat out dumb. Hopefully he doesn't do something like that ever again. [Reply]

I agree.
Ugly or not, your QB is giving you a chance. Watkins has to do better than that. It was a poor game for him in general. But he was brought on board to win those jump ball battles. He has to make that play. [Reply]

Naw man. He needs to look the safety off. Or the play needs a route that pulls the safety off the deep route. Watkins had him beat enough on the inside. [Reply]

WHAT?!? What the hell did you expect Watkins to do there? Mahomes threw a floater while staring Watkins down and the safety cut under it and picked it off. How does Watkins do anything there? [Reply]

If not his grade should be a D or F for the terrible throws. Most teams won't give up a bomb like that with 28 seconds to go in the half. You know it's coming.
