UPDATE: Scale was out of whack, actually at 174lbs, which is right around where I've been since last fall so that's a relief. Was a bit stunned to see 157 yesterday.

Initially I was focused more on getting in a healthy BMI range, than a specific weight #, my BMI now is about 20, in the normal range so that is where I am maintaining my weight.

I eat a "regular" (or slightly above "regular") intake of calories on Friday/Saturday, about 2,500-2,700 calories so between that increased intake and the 5 days of decreased caloric intake, my weight has maintained at the 138-140 range.

6' 2", 266 pounds this morning, for a BMI of 34.2, which is obese. I've lost 25 pounds since July 1. About 10 years ago, I went from about 295 down to 195, but I put most of that weight back on. Now I'm trying to take a good chunk of the excess weight off, doing the same things I did before, which is being careful with my diet and jogging a lot. Fortunately, my health is otherwise good, and my jogging has been going very well. In the past 4 weeks, according to my Garmin Forerunner 235 watch, I've racked up 164 miles. I jog slow and usually walk about a mile midway in my longer runs, to drink a bottle of water. I'm lucky because I enjoy jogging and now I have this fun little watch helping me keep track of distance, pace and other things, like sleep quality, which is important for losing weight. The watch estimates my VO2 Max as in the top 10% for men my age, and I feel pretty good about my aerobic fitness.
In the next week or so, I should dip below my driver's license weight (265 pounds). I'd like to get my BMI under 30 (233 pounds) before my next birthday in December. If I avoid any serious injuries, that should be do-able.

That's awesome! Congratulations, scho63!

I was working out hard for several months before my vacation i took this summer but after my vacation i've had very little motivation.

I need to get a new kayak the one i bought before my vacation was wrapped around a rock in the Rio Grande and i couldn't muster enough strength to hang onto it and got swept away by the current FML that was a sonofabitchin of a day.

I hear that Liposucution or coolsculpting is the fastest way to lose weight.

I do a version of the 5/2 fasting eating plan... regular eating on Fridays/Saturdays, <400 calories on Sundays and then <700 calories on Mondays through Thursdays.

I lost about 60 pounds two years ago when I started on this eating plan and I’ve been able to keep it off.

As long as you make sure to maximize your protein intake (and minimize sugar) on the low calorie intake days it is manageable.
Damn.

I guess if it makes you happy and healthy.

I was like 6 feet and 145 lbs until I was about 28 and I hated it. I actually went on a high protein/high fat diet where I'd consume about 6000-8000 calories per day. When you cut the carbs and shit that's a LOT of eating.

It worked. Put on an additional 30 lean pounds in less than 6 months.

I wish I had done it 10 years earlier. I hated being skinny.

4 years ago, I lost 90 lbs. Then, I met my boyfriend, got pregnant, and fell back into old eating habits. Not quite back to where I was before, but close. Trying to watch my portions and finally able to get to the gym 3 days per week. It won't come off as quickly as it did last time, but slow and steady wins the race sometimes.

I turned 72 early this year. I am 6' tall and weighed 240. I was 195 when I graduated from high school and 205 straight out of basic training when I was in the best shape of my life. I did fine till I retired and then I let myself go to hell. Early this Spring I realized if I didn't do something I wouldn't be alive much longer to enjoy retirement.
I started walking and worked up to 3 miles a day. (I have arthritis in both knees and if I walk any farther they give out on me). I cut sweets, chips, and bread out of my diet and also red meat for the most part. Chicken, turkey, fish, and some pork are my meat dishes.
I have been walking 3 miles daily now for over two months and my weight is 207. My goal was 200 and I think I'll make it by the end of summer. I really don't want to go much if any lower. I once went on a massive diet and hit 185 and all my friends kept asking me if I was sick. I really did look emaciated. :-)
