Horrified. An elderly tenant just called me, put me on w a Jackson County, MO Deputy Sheriff. They are executing an eviction against the tenant this morning. Sheriff said it's been "business as usual," and they're evicting 10-25 people a day. Tenant is scared, has nowhere to go.

Italy has a greater % of the higher risk population for COVID-19 and a more limited ability to social distance.
We have areas of our country with very high population density.

This is skewed by the areas that have hardly any people.

45 days ago the Chiefs were winning the Super Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium, and now the stadium's parking lot is being set-up as a massive COVID-19 testing center.

South Korea was able to successfully contain the virus in a measured way without destroying their economy and democratic way of life.
South korea got on it faster. Italy didn't. They went business as usual, then were forced to lock it down. Now, last I looked, their new cases are leveling out so the quarantine/lockdown is working. All these deaths didn't catch it yesterday.

So take from that what you will.

Kansas City reports first coronavirus patients Wednesday in two unrelated cases

A woman in her 40s and man in his 30s have tested positive for COVID-19, the first confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Kansas City, the city’s health department announced Wednesday afternoon.

The health department has started its formal investigations to determine if others who had contact with the man or woman are showing symptoms and should be tested or isolated, the department said in a press release.

Both people are isolated in their homes and their cases appear to be unrelated, the department said.

“We knew it was only a matter of time before one of our residents would learn they had COVID-19,” Dr. Rex Archer, the city’s director of health, said in the release. “With viruses, there are no borders. Everyone in the Kansas City metro area must be on guard. Leave your home only when absolutely necessary.”

A Children’s Mercy Hospital patient who tested positive for coronavirus, announced earlier in the day, was not a Kansas City resident, the health department said.
