Nzoner's Game Room>Jared Veldheer signing with Packers
thabear04 05:03 PM 01-11-2021

OT Jared Veldheer, who started for the Colts' on Saturday, is now signing with the Packers, per source.

Veldheer will be the first player in NFL history to play two postseason games for two playoff teams. He is allowed to sign with GB because he was on the Colts' practice squad.

Jets released him, so he was technically a free agent. This guy was on a practice squad and never actually hit free agency. Right?

I suppose that makes sense.

Bell was released and out of protocol for some time so he had to wait.

I don't recall the particulars. I feel like he was released and signed with us pretty much immediately but there was a gap.

I remember this guy was a physical monster in his oakland days.

He pulled a David Boston and way over trained. Got muscle bound and put a ton of strain on his body in the process. Was never able to stay consistently healthy after he left Oakland.

Ridiculous that you can switch teams with just 3 games left of the season

After all that, Jared Veldheer will not become the first NFL player to play in the same postseason for two different teams. https://t.co/uzECIUJxkh

He ain’t playing on Saturday. Guess they should have tested him earlier. Cause he tested positive today.

So contact tracing protocols...

Wonder what that means for any staff/players he was in contact with

Was told the Packers have been cleared through contact tracing of having to put anyone else on the list for now.

Obviously, test results between now and Saturday's game will also be a factor. https://t.co/Ax59xFWJOe

Don't see how this is possible when he was just practicing

Exactly what I said a couple of days ago. Seems like a faulty assumption when a player changes teams considering what we've seen from several teams and their outbreaks.
