I always thought it was an interesting (if unfortunate) coincidence that all the presidents since William Harrison in 1840 who were elected in a "zero" year (1840, 1860, 1880, 1900. 1920. 1940. 1960. 1980) were all either shot and/or died while occupying the office of the presidency.

1840 (1841): Harrison dies of pneumonia
1860 (1865): Lincoln assassinated
1880 (1881): Garfield assassinated
1900 (1901): McKinley assassinated
1920 (1923): Harding dies of food poisoning
1940 (1945): Roosevelt dies of illness
1960 (1963): Kennedy assassinated
1980 (1981): Reagan shot
