how would the risk versus reward with this latest incident be more beneficial to him than the notoriety he already gained from the two instances here? It wouldn't be. [Reply]
hell NASCAR as a whole has gained notoriety just by coming back and being on TV since mid May when very few other sports are able to. They too don't need this.
Look at like the second race back when there was an on track incident involving Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch, that instantly made NASCAR a trending topic. Then a couple races later another on track incident with Chase and Joey Logano, again lead to NASCAR trending. [Reply]

Yea, they've almost got the market cornered. [Reply]

Gaining notoriety is a lot different than gaining an audience. They've been bleeding fans for years and then alienated probably half of their fan base by vowing to enforce a rule they've had in place for several years but ignored. They need more than this is going to get them. [Reply]
I don't believe for a second that a crew member saw the pull cord and mistakenly hought it was a noose directed at Wallace, and no one caught that it was in every other stall before it blew up.
Phelps doesn't use the strong language he used yesterday
The notion that NASCAR (or Wallace's team) did this to bring attention to themselves is absurd. They've been fighting a negative racial stereotype since they're begining. They're not gonna hang a damn noose to show how woke they are

This is where I'm at. They already had attention, why risk losing it all, or even being ostracized from the sport entirely, by planting this? Would be incredibly stupid.
That's not to say I'm entirely sure someone maliciously left this in his stall, this still could be a huge misunderstanding. We are just going to have to wait and see what NASCAR/the FBI/Justice Department(my understanding is the investigation is currently completely out of NASCAR's hands and is being handled by the latter two, hence why we haven't heard much beyond the initial report) find out and disclose. I'm not saying they planted it because if it was the cord, WHICH it looks like it the most likely outcome as of right now they just ran with the story.
Turns out to be false, no harm no foul right?
Meanwhile their Team gets alot of attention, during a time when the sport shouldn't be struggling. They are trying to reach out to a different demographic that will NEVER watch their sport.
If you don't think this mystery hasn't already been solved I don't know what to tell you. They know who did it, they know how it happened already. There are Camera in the garage and all over the place.
There is ZERO reason to string this along. [Reply]
