It's the end of the world as we know it... and we feel... fine?

Assume Cain isn't returning to Milwaukee?

Brewers gave up a lot. Brinson was their big OF prospect, and a couple of those other guys were highly thought of, but Yelich is under contract until 2022 at a reasonable rate... and he's 26, a proven hitter, and will probably rake in that ballpark.

Rosenthal says that this still doesn't rule them out on Cain, which I guess is possible but they'd be overloaded with outfielders if that's the case. Then again maybe they'll just let it ride. They're a sneaky deep team who rotates in a lot of players. They had nine different guys hit double digit homers and that didn't include their catchers, who hit 9, 8 and 6. Maybe they just sign Cain and rotate him and Braun through the lineup to keep them healthy.

Things have really not gone well for our much-touted FA class.

Is Mike Minor the only one who's signed?

He just posted about it again. Keep in mind that the Brewers have a pretty talented outfield of Braun/Broxton/Santana, plus now Yelich. Eric Thames plays OF occasionally and they have a super utility man in Hernan Perez who plays a lot of OF.

The #Brewers still are trying to sign free-agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain, sources tell The Athletic. Nothing changes with acquisition of Yelich.

Welp

@Ken_Rosenthal: #Brewers in agreement with free-agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain, sources tell The Athletic. Deal is pending a physical.

I think the Brewers actually got Yelich for a song. Brinson is a premium prospect, and Harrison is really toolsy, but they have so much prospect depth in the outfield, they can afford to move them.

5/80 for Cain. Wow. Good for him.

Not comfortable with that length. Going to look ugly when he's on the downside.

Yeah, I have no trouble not matching that one. I wonder where that puts Dyson's value at.

Happy for Zo. Happy the Royals didn't give him that contract.
