I thought Airbnb was renting an extra room, or you move to a new city and rent your old house. I didn't realize there were tons of people who made it a business by taking on dozens of mortgages. They had a lady on who'd bought 26 houses. She had no idea what she was gonna do. That's a ton of leverage. Works until it doesn't, I guess
Yeah, my impression of Airbnb is that it started out as people renting out rooms or their house, and now it's mostly companies or large-scale investors that are operating decentralized hotels in residential areas.

Or every bodega and convenience store in less than affluent areas.

Wow. Coronavirus already in France as early as December 2019! Study peer reviewed.

• Early community spreading changes our knowledge of #covid19 epidemic.

• This totally changes our understanding & modeling studies should adjust to this new data.https://t.co/RPWzlzj0RI

not sure about the source post, but if this is true it does change things if there was community spread in December.

Just so we're clear: you now think there's going to be a rash of bank robberies because people can wear cloth masks in public? Do most bank robbers currently not wear masks?

So wearing masks is now going to cause an epidemic of bank robbery? Must be why I read all about the great Asian bank robbery epidemic of 2003-4 after SARS.

Prior to this what do you think would have happened if you walked into a bank with any kind of a mask on? My Wife works in banking so I know the answer.

Most likely none. Might get in by an appointment if you needed too.

Scientists have identified a new strain of the coronavirus that has become dominant worldwide and appears to be more contagious than the versions that spread in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new study led by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The new strain appeared in February in Europe, migrated quickly to the East Coast of the United States and has been the dominant strain across the world since mid-March, the scientists wrote.....

If true it explains why NY has been so much worse than the west coast.

No shock that you are ignorant as to the standard language in most anti-mask laws...

Let’s see you diagram a cloth facemask that complies with that requirement.

I loved the Springfield news spot where they were highlighting the changes restaurants made for covid. Masks were being worn and they zoomed in on the guy cooking the food who was wearing his on his chin. No one even noticed or mentioned it...

I work security as a side gig at one of the local banks.

We are inside open by appointment only for a couple more weeks. Masks are required by the employees but not the citizens. If you want a loan or to check your safety deposit box you can come in. Anything else has to be done through the drive thru.

When they open up in a couple weeks they will limit the amount of people inside. Loans will still be appointment only but there will be a teller line. It’ll probably have 4-5 people in it at a time. Not the usual 10-15 people.

Which do you think is a greater risk to the public right now: banning all mask wearing in public or allowing people to wear a surgical mask in a bank?

I mentioned it in one of these threads but I was asked to pull down my mask to make a beer purchase
