Best steakhouse in Kansas City. It's also restaurant week in Kansas City which unfortunately seems to get less appealing every year, but still a nice selection.

Went to Capital Grill recently and was shocked at how crappy the food was. Steak was way over done, the shrimp skewer was absolutely tasteless. Wife had the chicken and it tasted just like the shrimp - nothing. Hope it was just a one-off, as it's usually much, much better.

Steak is too damn easy to make at home to be paying $30+ bucks for.

I'd pay people to make me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Feed me.

Suck is a strong word, but you’ll be disappointed.

Why would you choose Jess & Jim's over, say, 801 or Captial Grille?

Medium rare.

They were out of the strip so I got the ribeye.

It was okay (Jim and Jess Steakhouse). One trend I seem to notice is the "timeless" steakhouses or even restaurants in general that have been around for a long time don't seem to believe in seasoning. The food it just kind of bland. Most steakhouses that have become popular in the last 15 years just have much better seasoned steak.

Salt and pepper are the only seasonings that go on steak.

Not true. Many different spices can be put on steak to enhance it. I'm not talking about ketchup and A1 or anything like that.

Did't care for their steak at all no seasoning whatsoever, thankfully they had a dinner that included frog legs as those I'll give a thumbs up to.

Their scalloped potatoes might be the best thing I've ever eaten once they cool to under 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.
