Media Center>Open World Star Wars game in development from Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment
keg in kc 02:14 PM 01-13-2021
In collaboration with Lusasfilm games. Not much more info right now. EA's monopoly is over, but there will be more Star Wars games from EA.

Might be a Mando game.

Star Wars Galaxies was the first MMORPG I played. It was also the last MMO I will ever play

Galaxies was maybe the worst of the many mmo's I have played. But avoiding mmo's is not a bad plan.

My phone kept autocorrecting that to 'mom' and I think it's still accurate.

These are the guys behind The Division games.

I am curious how they will approach the SW IP. Will it be The Division in the SW universe or will they foray into some entirely new territory?

I would rather they focus on more Division, i'm past my star wars love and play a ton of Division. I hope this doesn't mean they're stopping on the Division series. Already doing Avatar as well. One studio can't develop 3 AAA titles can they?

Despite being owned by Ubisoft, Massive isn't actually "massive". Also, normally Ubi's M.O. is to have a studio work on 2 games at once - one current project and one future project.

Perhaps Avatar being delayed until 2022-2023 will help, I would even be happy with a decent size dlc twice a year for Division 2. I know they haven't sold enough loot boxes but the type of gamer that plays Division doesn't care much for cosmetics.

Hopefully they do better, I hated division.

I keep saying it, maybe someone here that knows someone will get it to the right people.

Give me battlefield: gi joe or even bigger. Use maps like PlanetSide.

It would be a gold mine.

Small monthly fee for servers. Unlock or buy cosmetics. They can resell the toys from yesteryears with digital codes to also unlock them in game.

Would allow a new tv show or movies.

Make it a mmofpsrpg. Also make certain areas have elite mobs of the different factions and raids or dungeons ala borderlands with death tickets.

Normal world pvp has map countdown timers. You defeat the map then you get it for so many hours as you push towards enemy bases.

The most important, fuck china, keep them off US servers.

Star wars is tough. Jedi are so damn overpowered to balance them in a game. The original mmo only a few.
Or make a proper kotor mmorpg. Then it wouldn't matter.

They did make a proper KOTOR MMO and it was extremely well done and I'm pretty sure people are still playing it to this day. :-)

I disagree, it was bad for years before going ftp and still is choppy when I went back.

I can see how you can say you didn't like it for whatever reasons you may have, but it was objectively definitely not bad.

I played it probably for right under a year from launch and it was a great experience. The classes had great design and were balanced, the questing, the story, and the progression were awesome. PVP was fun as hell. Companions and companion missions were great (WoW ended up stealing that idea from them). The end game was broken at first but quickly got fixed. I was lucky enough to be in one of the better progression guilds at the time and we powered through the imbalanced and broken raids anyway.

I have very fond memories of it.
