Thanks!

Just as I suspected, that's a far cry from me continually calling this the flu and spending weeks claiming that.

It was in fact well over a month ago and all I did was mention how many people die from season flu annually. You know how much this was discussed in the first week of March?

Yea you really got me.

Other than that nothing changed until the official stay at home order on March 19th.

Sure but New York was still encouraging people to go out as late as March 20th. California was way out ahead of this.

NY subways have been a pool of this from the start. NY should have have shut down in Feb to have any chance.

I won't disagree with you that NY should have shut down sooner. I think as others have said though it is tough to shut down the subway. SF hasn't shut down BART.

Sure, I agree with you. But population density make a huge difference as we can clearly see now.

Look at the spread on East Coast compared to the rest of the United States. They needed to act much quicker than the rest, and maybe other didn't need to react as fast.

This one SHOE fits all approach isn't going to stop anything, it just delays it but it doesnt make much sense considering it will peak at different times everywhere.

Something optimistic is shared. We discuss theraputics and such
BRC says something about ventilators.
Sometimes at this point Austin Chief shows up and it turns into a bloodbath for a while. I stand back and don't dare get involved.
We all kind of lighten up for a while. I guess because it's lunch time.
Afternoon reports come out and we're back to doom and gloom.
Deberg or someone else random posts a random tweet that's kind of funny and takes our minds off doom and gloom.
The President has his daily press briefing and everyone gets kinda pissy again. (More borderline political stuff pops up, but again, it's usually policed pretty well)
Demonpenz pops in and says something I have to read 3 or 4 times to try and figure out what he means.
I assume people start drinking because the mood lightens. We discuss daily numbers and hope for a better outcome tomorrow.
End

I definitely agree population density plays a huge role in the spread of this thing, it is probably the #1 cause of it IMVHO.

That list is very misleading. Several metro areas locked down well before entire states did.

Not saying it will happen today but if we could see NY deaths get below the 600 level it would really be a good sign...
