I don’t even know what to say. How something like that could happen is beyond me. It just sucks for anyone who was on that bridge at the time. From the little I saw it does look like there were cars that were sent into the river.

No idea how the fuck that’s possible. Some sort of major fuck up by that ship.

Something out of a movie.

even early morning, in a metro area, there had to be a lot of people on that bridge

We have a lot of shitty bridges in this country. Piss poor infrastructure. East Coast and Midwest have a ton of steel garbage we all drive over daily.
No bridge is designed to take that kind of impact.

Wonder how long it's going to fuck the port of Baltimore. Could be an absolute disaster economically

Power went out on the ship just moments before the collision...

This video starts sooner & explains as well as show exactly what happened👉the ship lost power, got it back briefly, lost power for good & then hit the bridge.https://t.co/JSMF8xiITz

Would kind of like to hear a nerdy breakdown of the physics involved here. It looks like such a slow-moving boat. Like, can't I just reach out my foot and give it a little love-tap to stop it? But obviously it's basically a floating island of weight. Really makes you think how many times per day a similar ship goes under a similar bridge and everybody on the bridge has their lives in the hands of an unknown crew they will never even know existed.

Wow, that sucks. I have been over that bridge at least a dozen times myself. It's bad enough it happened in the first place, but glad it didn't happen around 5:30PM.

Damn, the timing on those power losses was terrible.

Newton’s first Law of Motion. They don’t exactly have brakes that they can slam on to stop on a dime.

You can follow the ships track on a maritime tracking tool and it was acting erratically.

Bottom line is there should have been a fleet of tugs pulling this ship and its moronic captain out of harms way.
