Personally, I think the Steelers should kick any offensive lineman that DIDN'T throw a punch or a boot at the guy that hit their QB in the head with his own helmet.
There is plenty of blame to go around, but Garrett cost himself $30M last night. [Reply]

I don’t really buy plenty of blame to go around. Until Garett hits him with the helmet that’s a pretty normal scuffle. Maybe no one is even thrown out of the game.
As for the suspension, is this really worse than Haynesworth stomping a bare head? I say 5-6 games. [Reply]

Garrett should get a year. 16 games. Assault charges should be filed through the authorities. Absolutely no place for that kind of shit. He could have killed the dude if he connected flush.
If that was Mahomes getting hit like that, there would be cries for NFL ban entirely. Just because its Mason Rudolph does not lessen the severity of what this dumbass did.
Pounceys suspension of 3 games is pretty severe given he was reacting to Garrett literally trying to kill his qb. [Reply]

Nah man, in baseball and hockey people get hit with objects all the time intentionally. Dudes punch each other in the face with fists etc...as well. You start down this road and it could get pretty dicey. [Reply]

Great QBs generally are smart enough to realize not to do stupid shit. The part that blows my mind is once he lost the helmet why is Rudolph going after Garrett? Is it because he has backup so it's 3 on 1? Either way it was really stupid when it would have been over long before the helmet swing. [Reply]
I'm curious what people think about the hits to the head. Given the NFL's stance on protecting against head injuries, my inclination is that punches or kicks to most body parts won't get you a lot of punishment, but hitting people in the head is a major offense.
Garrett obviously has a major problem in this regard so we don't need to even go there, but I think Pouncey will be the interesting story line. I think Pouncey might've gotten off with just a fine except for the fact that he was kicking a guy in the head while the guy was on the ground. That's a major problem. [Reply]

Most of those scums are broken up pretty quickly by the zebras and other players. If it's just shoving and whatnot, it's normally no big deal, but punches will normally draw a fine and at least an ejection. Kicking usually draws a suspension and a fine. The fact he was kicking the head will probably warrant a multiple game suspension plus a pretty hefty fine. [Reply]
In all from the NFL: — #Browns DE Myles Garrett suspended without pay indefinitely, at least the rest of the season. — #Steelers OL Maurkice Pouncey suspended 3 games and fined — #Browns DL Larry Ogunjobi suspended one game and fined. — Other players involved may be fined.
