Below I made some notes on different NFL teams and how they would fit for Antonio Brown. To bring Brown in, a team would need to have salary cap space (probably an incentive heavy deal), a strong head coach and organization, a good QB to throw him the ball, and the ability to compete for play-offs. Very few teams would be able to provide that for Antonio Brown. He may have to wait until an NFL team really needs his services.
• Arizona Cardinals – HC Kliff Kingsbury, QB Kyler Murray – New HC and QB, probably not worth the risk of trying to add Antonio Brown. Also minus $2 M of cap space.
• Atlanta Falcons HC Dan Quinn, QB Matt Ryan. They have a $22 M per year WR Julio Jones but could use another. Currently overthecap.com shows Falcons having minus $4.2 M of cap space.
• Baltimore Ravens HC John Harbaugh, QB Lamar Jackson Ravens need WR help and have $9 m in cap space. Seems like a possible spot for Mr. Brown. He could play Pittsburgh and Big Ben twice per year.
• Buffalo Bills
• Carolina Panthers
• Chicago Bears HC Matt Nagey, QB Mitchell Trubisky. Don’t think Bears offense can be saved by AB.
• Cincinnati Bengals
• Cleveland Browns HC Freddie Kitchens, QB Baker Mayfield – Receivers Odell Beckham $17 M, Jarvis Landry $14 M – With $33 M in cap space they could get him but maybe they can’t afford the drama that Antonio would bring?
• Dallas Cowboys HC Jason Garrett, QB Dak Prescott. The way Dallas is passing out money, maybe there is some money for AB too.
• Denver Broncos
• Detroit Lions
• Green Bay Packers HC Matt LeFleur, QB Aaron Rodgers. Packers could use the extra receiver with Jimmy Graham and Davante Adams being their primary guys. Can first year coach LeFleur handle the extra drama Antonio Brown would bring? Packers have $9 M of cap space.
• Houston Texans
• Indianapolis Colts
• Jacksonville Jaguars
• Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid, QB Patrick Mahomes. Chiefs already have Sammy Watkins $19.2 M Travis Kelce $10.7 M, Tyreek Hill $18 M. Antonio Brown could completely change the team chemistry in KC so probably not a good idea. KC has $11.3 M of cap space.
• Los Angeles Chargers HC Anthony Lynn, QB Phillip Rivers
• Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay, QB Jared Goff, WR Brandin Cooks $15.2 M, Robert Woods $7 M, and Cooper Kupp. Rams only have $2 M in cap space currently.
• Miami Dolphins
• Minnesota Vikings
• New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick, QB Tom Brady. They have $9 M of cap space. Brown would be another weapon for Tom Brady to throw to with Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon also in the mix.
• New Orleans Saints HC Sean Payton, QB Drew Brees, Receivers- Michael Thomas, Jared Cook A football focused Antonio Brown would be a help to Saints. Overthecap.com shows Saints with minus $.7 M of cap space.
• New York Giants
• New York Jets
• Oakland Raiders - Nope
• Philadelphia Eagles HC Doug Pederson, QB Carson Wentz, WR Alston Jeffrey $14.7 M, Nelson Agholor, $9.3 M, DeSean Jackson $3.1 M, TE Zach Ertz $6.2 M. Eagles have $15.4 M of cap space.
• Pittsburgh Steelers Nope
• San Francisco 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan, QB Jimmy Garoppolo $22 M of cap space
• Seattle Seahawks HC Pete Carroll, QB Russell Wilson – No longer has WR Doug Baldwin and could work with Tyler Lockett and D.K Metcalf. Seattle has $9 M of cap space.
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers
• Tennessee Titans
• Washington Redskins
