Nzoner's Game Room>Will you take the vaccine?

I don't think this needs to go to DC because it's an apolitical question, more about how much you trust Big Pharma.

Yes, I'll take it at some point, but where I fall in terms of age probably would make me fall in a group that receives the vaccine later than most whenever it is widely available.

I wouldn't get it initially when it's available just given my skepticism that big pharma rushed to make a vaccine in months as opposed to a year +, though that could say more about how it incredible of a scientific discovery the vaccine is than monetary interests.

If there had been a vaccine in the 80's for AIDS, would it be OK to force everyone to take it? Just to eradicate the virus? It's a little different, but not much. It is highly communicable, but it is so based on your behavior.

I dunno. It just sucks. I'm sure I'll end up taking the thing. I just don't feel that it's necessary. Someone else is making that decision for me, and accusing me of not caring for my fellow man as their reasoning to shame me into taking it. It's just un-nerving.
Big difference is that AIDS isn't an airborne virus.

So you think standing next to a escort at church is the same type of behavior as having sex with said escort or being injected with heroin by said escort? I realize our current Vice President is afraid of being in a room alone with a woman, but I didn’t think it was virus-related.

In all seriousness, I’m sympathetic to what you’re saying and I understand your reservations. But this is a one-hundred-year storm. No one feels good about the myriad of choices that individuals and public health professionals have had to make. There’s no winner here (except Bill Gates according to the crazies).

Thing is, I personally don't feel the need. I'm not anti-vax, I've taken plenty in my time for overseas trips etc. But if I didn't have to take it, I wouldn't. If I'm compelled to, I probably will.

It bothers me that movie theaters, concert venues, sports venues etc could have access to my records and confirm or deny my entry based on that. It seems Orwellian to say the least. And like it or not, once that precedent has been set, there is no stopping it's expansion to who knows what.

I know people get annoyed with people like me and brand me as uncaring of my fellow man. Here's what I don't get. If the vaccine is meant to innoculate you from getting the Rona...and you don't take it...how is it that you are endangering anyone except yourself and others who choose not to take it? My body my choice...right?
Is the precedent not already set? Vaccines have largely been required for decades to attend public schools, but I've never heard that called Orwellian.

As of now, we know the vaccine prevents disease and symptoms etc. It's possible it doesn't prevent transmission.

Pretty good. We were as busy as I've ever been from Mid May when we opened back up until about 2 weeks ago. I'm still busy but hygiene is in the period six months after the time we were shut down so it's a bit slower. We are booked back up starting in December again though. Wearing gowns, surgical cap and face shield. Feel pretty safe. How about you?

LOL, basically the exact same. We did some things with reactivating patients and such to fill last month and this month, so it hasn't been too bad. I took some time off the end of October, since the shut down it had been pretty wild.

Washable gowns, n95 with a level 3 surgical mask over it, face shield and surgical caps for us.

Had alot of problems with hygienist coming back early. Had to let a few go who refused to come back and work because they didn't feel safe. Weirdly they felt more safe to go back to other offices and work once unemployment ran out. But thats a different subject.

Individuals have been subject to compensation for injury due to vaccination for over thirty years and every vaccine dose is subject to an excise tax to fund that program, even though the overwhelming majority of funded claims don't even have merit.

I won't be first in line since I am not in a high risk category so, I'll continue to social distance, wear a mask etc. and when it is readily available for the general public I will get one. There are people who will need this vaccine way before I do
