Nzoner's Game Room>Cam Newton to the Patriots
Dante84 05:55 PM 06-28-2020

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has reached agreement on a one-year, incentive-laden deal with the New England Patriots, league sources tell @mortreport and me.

Newton now will step into the mix to try to help replace former Patriots’ QB Tom Brady.

Nothing is. Nothing has ever been.

Kc was the 3rd indian team to win a SB with a black QB. The only black QBs to win a SB were on indian themed teams. All planned. All scripted.

Yes, Seattle is a indian themed team. The logo is from a totem pole to honor local tribe.

The 2015 Panthers are extremely similar to the 2019 Ravens. Excellent RB stable with an elite running QB who could make needed throws.

Why not do that again?

Patriots team looks awfully similar to 2019 Ravens now. They have a handful of RB’s to use.

Or it is a Seahawk like it has always been.

And stop with this Bills bullshit. Yes they are talented, but Josh Allen sucks. His accuracy is terrible. Watch the playoff game again. Dude missed WR’s that were wide open 10 yards downfield.

The Patriots are winning the division again. Their defense will still be really good and their offense will be better. Dang was hurt, Harry was struggling as a rookie, their OL has bad injuries as well as their FB (couldn’t run the ball). Oh and did I mention their QB was a fucking statue?

Guarantee the Pats will win the division. I’ll place money on that shit right now
I’m talking about the Bills roster overall. I’ve already said that the Pats will probably still win the division by default.

I honestly don’t see what Cam does better than Allen at this point of his career. He’s been incredibly inaccurate since the shoulder injury and unlike Allen his body can’t handle consistently running it for 16+ games. Allen also has the advantage of not having to learn an offense under difficult circumstances.

Also, saying the Pats offense is going to be better replacing Brady with Newton is baseless. Even Brady at this point of his career is better than what Cam has been. I don’t think it’s even remotely close.

And the fact that the best thing going for their offense is getting a fucking FB back says it all. They made zero improvements and Harry has shown nothing to make anybody believe he’s going to take a big step forward.

On the defensive side, they lost Van Noy, Shelton, and Collins. They didn’t get better on offense and they definitely got worse on defense.

I can't see Cam Newton elevating that offense like Brady did with underwhelming weapons.
You are assuming Cam is motivated. Only motivation Cam has is for himself and Bellichek will weed this out in a hurry because in order to elevate an offense that lacks playmakers you MUST work at being a student of the game. Cam ain't gonna work I assure you. From Day 1 BB will be all up in this guy's ass to see if he has any hope of taking this guy's game to the next level I assure you.

Did they not lose some key pieces on defense like Van Noy?

They are worse than they were in 2019 and now Cam Newton puts them in the AFCCG?

I think a lot of you are overrating the hell out of this move. The guy hasn’t even played good football in years.
Yes. A 31 year old Cam Newton is better than a 43 yr old Tom Brady.

Based on what exactly?

It can’t be their recent play.

Depending on their line. A good running game and a mobile QB will keep the chains moving. Just hit a few short passes for balance.

Tom was mostly protect at all cost and him hit hronk or the open guy.

If Bill can get ahold of his ego they may win an extra game or two. Or someone's QB goes down in the short training camp or early season and trade.

Pats have nothing to lose.

Well other than drafting a new QB.

Agreed.

It's a great signing at a cheap price. Only an idiot or a hater would talk bad about it.

Did you fail to see Tom Brady play football last year? Cam is going to be as healthy as hes been since entering the league. I expect a quasi revitalization of his career. Cam, unlike Lamar Jackson, can actually throw a football.

Cams last full season he had a 94 QB rating in 14 games in 2018. Throwing to guys named DJ Moore and Devin Funchess. While having some injury issues if I recall.

Also, we've seen how inventive McDaniels can be and I'm sure hes anxious to mold his offense differently after being hamstrung by a 42 yr old noodle armed statue of Tom Brady last year.

Judging by you giving my post a thumbs down, and quoting the guy that quoted me, I assume you’re talking about me.

But you’re a fucking moron that clearly thinks I said something that I didn’t. Nobody is hating or talking bad about it dumbass. I simply said people are overrating it.

:-)

The bold is just hilarious speculation.

Also, if you think the Pats have a WR better than DJ Moore, you’re out of your fucking mind. I love how you mention him like he’s a nobody. He was a stud even as a rookie.

I’m sure the Pats wouldn’t prefer Tom Brady back at the price they got for Cam!

Cam is more mobile, can legitimately kill teams in a running offense like Lamar and can still make decent throws. I don’t think his arm is completely shot.

Brady’s arm was dying in December last year and he’s a statue.

Brady is more clutch though. No doubt about that

And smarter, more accurate, with MUCH more experience in the system.

But let’s ignore all of that and focus on mobility when Cam can’t even stay healthy if he uses his legs too much.

Where the fuck do you get this idea that Cam at this point of his career can play like Lamar for 16+ games?
