Temple of Doom sucked. Aliens was better than Alien. Terminator 2 was better than Terminator. Godfather and Godfather Part II are pretty much equal, but I prefer the first one because of James Caan and Marlon Brando.

And speaking of better sequels, Road Warrior was far better than Mad Max.

I pretend that Temple of Doom didn't happen, and that The Last Crusade was the true worthwhile sequel. Temple of Doom was completely forgettable and I stopped taking that movie seriously in the opening scene.

Aliens is a better action flick than Alien, but Alien has the better horror obviously.

I would say the easiest example is The Dark Knight is better than Batman Begins, but that one's easy.

Too many green screen effects (or at least, effects that dont stand up years later) in Temple.

And Kate Capshaw (and for that matter, the kid was annoying too).

Raiders was a fantastic story, fantastic bad guys and drama, and TWO of the most iconic scenes in all of cinema:

1. Taking the idol/boulder

2. Taking out the gun and shooting huge bad guy
