The Dark Knight is better than Batman Begins. One I forgot.
Perhaps a better question is whether the final film in a trilogy has ever exceeded the first two...
Maybe Return of the King, although Fellowship of the Ring has always been my favorite (on screen or in print).
I can't think of anything else. Maybe Skyfall if you consider the latest set of Bond films as its own thing, coming after Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. [Reply]

Empire Strikes Back is better than A New Hope.
Then there's Godfather and Godfather 2. Not sure I'd say one is better than the other.
Rooster Cogburn brings back our favorite 1-eyed lawman but replaces god-awful Kim Darby from True Grit with Katharine Hepburn. We also got a GREAT villain in Hawk, played by Richard Jordan (who played Jeffrey Pelt in 'The Hunt for Red October')

Apex Duke...
I had no idea this existed. I'm going to have to track it down. [Reply]

No way, 3 is much better than 2. Though I must say my enjoyment of 2 has increased with a couple watchings, but it is no where near as good as 1. [Reply]
