We fucked up dealing with our offensive line this offseason. They underestimated the importance of Fisher and overestimated the abilities of Erving and Reiter. Fisher and Morse have been carrying our LG position for years.

Andy Heck had no idea that Ranker, Reiter, Wylie, and Erving weren't ready to go by themselves.

I don't really agree with this. You have to get cheap serviceable guys somewhere on the roster, you can't just shed cash at every position for average to above average play. Seems like the Chiefs have backed their talent evaluation/coaching to go the cheaper route on the O line to some degree.

People like Wylie and Reiter have come in and done an okay job, the Chiefs line isn't an elite one but it's been good enough until these recent injuries. Depth is always a challenge, with how terrible some of the starting OLs in the NFL are right now its pretty hard to get starter level back ups to sit on your bench.
