Illegal Alien From El Salvador Charged With Brutally Raping Woman In New York

An illegal alien from El Salvador, who was previously deported from the U.S., was charged with the rape and a list of other charges after a woman in Long Island, New York, was attacked, beaten unconscious and was then raped.

Ever Martinez-Reyes, 24, was charged with rape, sexual assault, and other assault charges, and ordered to be held without bail at a Saturday arraignment, Fox News reported. Martinez-Reyes allegedly followed his female target around until he felt like he could get away with raping her, according to police. Martinez-Reyes originally entered the country illegally in 2010 before he was deported, however he illegally entered the U.S. again in 2014, according to ABC 7.

“When he assaulted her and knocked her out, he then proceeded to rape her,” Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder told Newsday. “She woke up and he knocked her out again and viciously continued to assault her.”

According to police, the victim came to after being knocked out by Martinez-Reyes and realized she was being raped. Martinez-Reyes then reportedly got up and ran. The victim had a broken jaw and was taken to the hospital after calling the police.

Martinez-Reyes faces up to 25 years in prison, if convicted.

A documented gang member who’d been deported from the U.S. six times and was wanted by Escondido police is suspected of unintentionally shooting and killing his older brother during an early Saturday morning bar fight, police said Tuesday.

Investigators had previously identified the suspect in the slaying as Manuel Eliseo Martinez, 32, of Escondido. On Tuesday, police identified the victim as 35-year-old Antonio Martinez.

A second man was shot and wounded while trying to break up the fight the Martinez brothers were involved in with another bar patron, Escondido police Lt. Chris Lick said. That man, whose name was not released, was expected to survive.

The events that led to the shooting began a little before 1 a.m., when the Martinez brothers were leaving Pounders on West Grand Avenue near South Broadway, Lick said. The brothers were in a vehicle that quickly accelerated and screeched away from the bar, prompting a person there to yell at the men for speeding.

“A short time later, Manuel and Antonio returned to confront that same patron,” Lick said in a statement. “Manuel pointed a firearm at the patron as Antonio punched and attacked the patron.”

Another person jumped into the melee, grabbing hold of Antonio Martinez to try to break up the fight, according to Lick.

“Manuel fired two rounds, striking Antonio and the third party who had intervened,” Lick said. “Antonio died from his gunshot wounds.”

When officers arrived, several people at the scene identified the younger Martinez as the suspect, and he took off running, police said. Officers chased Manuel Martinez for several blocks and got into a brief struggle before arresting him.

Lick said that while police categorized the shooting as gang-related, the man who was wounded while trying to break up the fight had no gang affiliation.

The suspected shooter, Manuel Martinez, is a documented gang member who was wanted by Escondido police as a suspect in three other violent crimes dating back to last October, Lick said. Police had been “actively searching for him since that time.”

Martinez, who has reportedly been deported six times, most recently in 2016, was also wanted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement since last October, Lick said.

Martinez remained in custody Tuesday on suspicion of 10 felony charges, including murder and attempted murder with gang and weapon enhancements. He was being held without bail.

Illegal immigrant charged with raping child

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — An illegal immigrant accused of sexually assaulting a child in Tuscaloosa put neighbors on edge. Juan Cornelio, 38, is charged with first degree rape.

Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to a home on Rice Mine Road Friday morning to investigate a possible sexual assault of a 10-year-old.

Police told ABC 33/40 until the case is finished, immigration services will put a hold on moving forward to address his undocumented status.

Neighbors said their biggest concern is whether their children are safe to play outside.

"If you have to scream, scream. Do what you have to do to get away," Wood Village Resident Heather Pena said she told her kids, after hearing the news about what happened in her neighborhood.

Pena was a child victim of sexual abuse, and now a mother of three.

"Just because it happened in this particular community, doesn't make this bad. It happened in my own home, to me."

She said management has already taken steps to change the mobile home park's reputation.

"There's a lot of great families that live in this park, that are your average income, middle-American family," Pena said, "Just because people live in a mobile home doesn't mean it happens more here, or it can't happen in other fancy neighborhoods."

The park manager said the suspect lived at the complex and passed an extensive background check.

Many people said they were still on edge, because they didn't know if their children were ever targeted. Pena said she'd be having an open conversation with her kids about assault, and what to do if it happens.

"As a community we have to come together, stand strong, and make our community aware that sexual abuse is real. It doesn't have a gender, race, financial status or ethnicity."

Cornelio is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $60,000 bond.

Authorities say a 13-year-old Alabama girl with special needs was beheaded after she saw her grandmother killed in a cemetery by an illegal immigrant.

The grandmother was associated with the Sinaloa Cartel, a drug-trafficking organization, a Madison County sheriff’s investigator testified.

It was June 2 when Palomino, Aguilar, Mendoza and a woman named Leticia Garcia went to pick up a quarter kilo of meth in Norcross, Georgia, a small city northeast of Atlanta, authorities said. Something apparently went wrong during the trip, [Investigator Stacy] Rutherford told the court. It was Mendoza and Garcia who were tied to the [Sinaloa] cartel, and Palomino thought there might be a setup, the investigator testified.

During the early morning hours of June 4, Mendoza was told she and Lopez would be taken somewhere safe.

Instead, Rutherford testified, Palomino and Aguilar drove the woman and her granddaughter to Moon Cemetery on Cave Springs Road. Mendoza and Palomino got out of the car and argued about the drug buy, according to Aguilar’s account.

The argument escalated, and Aguilar told police Palomino killed Mendoza.

Illegal immigrant is accused of day-after-Christmas killing

Hundreds of cops packed a California church on Saturday in a final salute to police officer Ronil Singh, who was killed the day after Christmas when he stopped an illegal immigrant suspected of driving drunk.

Ronil Singh, 33, a member of the Newman Police Department, was eulogized as a dedicated cop and a loving husband and father who grew up in his native Fiji watching cop dramas on TV and dreaming of being a police officer in the United States.

“He told me he came to this country with one purpose that one purpose was to become a police officer,” tearful Newman Police Chief Randy Richardson said during his eulogy.

The funeral service at CrossPoint Community Church in Modesto began with a moment of silence.

Bagpipers also played “Amazing Grace.”

Singh’s casket stood at the foot of the altar draped by an American flag.

Richardson said those who had offered him their condolences included people Singh had arrested on the street.

“He found a way to arrest people and put a smile on their face,” the chief said.

Gustavo Perez Arriaga, 32, a Mexican national, has been accused of killing Singh around 1 a.m. on December 26.

He was arrested two days after the murder as he prepared to flee to Mexico, officials said.

The case has rekindled a debate over California’s sanctuary law that limits cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

President Donald Trump seized on the case to call for tougher border security amid a fight with congressional Democrats over funding for a border wall, which has forced a partial government shutdown.

Reggie Singh told the church his family, including his brother, “legally migrated” to the U.S. in 2003.

Ronil Singh, 33, a member of the Newman Police Department, was eulogized as a dedicated cop and a loving husband and father who grew up in his native Fiji watching cop dramas on TV and dreaming of being a police officer in the United States.

Singh said he knew that this was what his brother wanted.

“He wanted justice and justice will be served,” he said.

Illegal immigrant ex-boyfriend arrested in death of New York woman found stuffed in suitcase

Police on Tuesday reportedly arrested a man who previously dated Valerie Reyes, the woman whose body – bound at the hands and feet – was discovered last week stuffed into a large red suitcase dumped on a roadside in an affluent Connecticut town.

The Greenwich Police Department announced the arrest of an individual "believed to be involved" in Reyes' death. That same person had also "fraudulently used the ATM card” that belonged to her.

Multiple sources reported the man arrested is Javier DeSilva of Flushing, N.Y., who previously had a relationship with the victim. DeSilva is a native of Venezuela and “has been in the country illegally since overstaying his visa,” CBS New York reported, citing sources.

A source told the TV station the 24-year-old New Rochelle woman was “killed at her residence." The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York is handling the case.

Reyes was identified last week as the person whose body was found jammed into a piece of luggage abandoned in upscale Greenwich, Conn. Reyes’ cause of death was not immediately clear.

Reyes' mother, Norma Sanchez, said her daughter -- who reportedly battled depression and anxiety -- became paranoid shortly before disappearing. She was last seen Jan. 29 and reported missing the next day.

“She was very scared, very frightened,” Sanchez told the Rockland/Westchester Journal News. “She didn’t mention anything or no one specific. She just said, ‘I’m scared. I’m paranoid, mommy. I’m getting anxiety attacks.’ She was having a hard time talking.”

Though she reportedly never told her mom who she feared, Sanchez said Reyes was clear about what she feared, telling her mom: “’I’m afraid someone is going to murder me."

Said Sanchez: "We wonder, 'Who made her feel this way?'"

Reyes, who worked at a Barnes & Noble in Eastchester, N.Y., planned to train to become a tattoo artist and liked to sing.

A service is scheduled for Tuesday night in New Rochelle.
