Starters can be flamboyant and idiosyncratic because they have the skills to pay the bills. Backups are extensions of the HC. They are there to mentor and collaborate with the starter, and to provide stability for the team when they go through the trauma of the starter going down.
Give me the list of backup QBs who made waves. I'm not talking about making waves by outperforming or outshining the starter when pressed into service. I'm talking about a backup who was a distraction to the squad and a flashpoint with the fanbase while doing nothing on the field. [Reply]
