So just to confirm the CDC is recommending social distancing of 10 or fewer people and not the SIP that some places have adopted?

Going through the sources, I don't see a single state that didn't report yesterday and today. Even the CDC, which wasn't updating over the weekend (closed out 4:00pm Fridays) now is.

I don't get that either. It seems like people strive to latch onto the most negative shit.

I am in the camp that thinks the disease has spread far further than anyone realizes and the reason we don't know is because it is actually a fairly mild disease for the VAST majority of people.

In regards to weekend numbers, I don't trust that they are reported accurately but I will not be surprised at all to see today's numbers pan out because at some point soon I feel the upward trend is going to stall due to a number of factors.

It will be interesting to see if social distancing and such are the main factors slowing things and cases/day drop off first then deaths/day follows. I have a feeling that will not be the case.

The CDC gives broad guidelines.

Shelter in place orders come from the local governments.

People are different .
Where did I say my way of thinking was better? I am just noticing that people are endlessly questioning any good news but grasping the hint of any bad news with both hands.

That is normal for most people. There is a reason people love the apocalyptic movies. There are reasons we have "preppers" and hoarders. Same reason people love horror flicks and boxing etc. Why doesn't the news show all the good stories that happen every day.

You are right Pete. We should be celebrating the lower numbers today. I hope people do and I really hope that it’s a trend that will continue to manifest itself.

I was only joking man. I'm with you on this.

Too many ppl in this thread have downplayed the CoronaVirus. Anytime someone posts news that isnt fantasy land 'this will be over in a wk' they claim you are either fear-mongering or that you only like bad news which is ridiculous.

You were questioning why people don’t see things the way you do. Hell I do it with my wife all the time it’s just the way it is, I will never convince her to think like me.
