For instance, having Lex try to frame Superman to make him look bad... I actually thought that was great. Great idea, and great execution of that entire Congressional hearing scene. I did not see the explosion during the hearing coming. They almost could've made that a key storyline to the film, and it would've given Lex some real teeth as he outsmarts Superman over and over. But instead they had to go back to the Bruce Wayne storyline and setting up Doomsday.

The explosion at the hearing was one of the best parts of the movie. They could have set up a real good conflict with that. But it didn't really end up leading to much. I was disappointed a couple scenes later when everybody knew the guy in the wheelchair (forgot his name) was behind it and didn't blame Superman for it. What's the point of that scene if not to frame superman and really have the world against him?
And Lex came of as being eccentric just for the sake of being eccentric. The speech he gave at that party was just weird and forced.

The Lex I know is fueled by Power and Greed and this Lex is made to be criminally insane with his twitching and nonsense talk like he is bipolar. Also the real Lex wouldn't create something he couldn't ultimately control like Doomsday yes he would create Doomsday if he could control it but in the movie what would be left of Lex Luthor had they not defeated Doomsday? He would have been just as dead as the rest of the world. I don't think this Lex thought that out.

I won't claim to know a lick about the DC universe, but is Wonder Woman supposed to be that much better than Superman? She was outperforming him by a mile in the fight against Doomsday. I guess the kryptonite still had an effect on him?

I'd say yes the kryptonite did still have an effect on him but Wonder Woman was doing an awesome job with her lasso and shield and everything she is about. She is an Amazon Warrior because she kicks ass. I want to know more about her how did she become meta human or was she born that way?

I really didn't give a shit about the Bats vs Superman because I knew they would come together at the end and save the planet from ultimate DOOM. The Doomsday was nice touch to say the least for that is what killed Superman in the comics. I cared more of the Justice League characters coming into this because I felt they are just going make more movies about them anyways so I want to see them in action. I really missed out on seeing The Flash just cuz I had run to the bathroom and get back and his scene was over that was most disappointing of not getting to see.
Wonder Woman is rumored to be five thousand years old in the movie universe. She comes from a culture where combat is a central pillar. She's a trained warrior that by her own admission has killed monsters from other worlds before and she has weapons forged by magic. If she's not superman's equal in strength she's not far behind. She just doesn't have some of his other powers, like heat vision and flight.
Basically she's what superman would be if he was a trained warrior...
You've seen in both movies how he's almost solely reliant on his powers. Batman just destroyed him when the kryptonite was active. He doesn't seem to have much of a clue how to actually fight with any technique. So he can beat the he'll out of vanilla humans but has issues in fights against other beings with power, be it zod or doomsday. Which is I hope an intentional choice of the filmmakers and something that changes over time. It's one way to develop a character that is really pretty bland on his own.
Which is also what I think they're trying to do by making Lois his moral compass rather than his parents, one of the things people complain the most about in both movies. [Reply]

Which is why i loved the animated series and movies.
they show he always is holding back. Always. I think it was the jla doom movie. Darkseid is attacking. And supes is bleeding and looks and just thanks Darkseid. Thanks him for being the first person that can take it. First person he doesnt have to hold back on. Then supes unleashes his rage from all the years and battles and beats the fuck out of him.

The B vs S fight was so cool.
Basically Batman used his wits and when Superman had no powers Batman stomped him.
But when Superman had his powers, Batman got his ass kicked hard [Reply]
I was going to avoid this because I didn't like the trailers and the reviews were so bad. My daughter wanted to see it bad so I took her. I enjoyed it for the most part. It was probably a bit too long but I'm surprised it got hammered so hard. [Reply]
