The problem is that there tends to be runs on positions as teams get into a FOMO mindset. Sometimes developmental players get drafted higher than expected. Smart GMs (like Veach) don’t just draft to “win now”, but he also looks longer term. This is critical for a team like this. He drafts to sustain as much as to win now. The LT he got allows for this as I highly doubt he would have made it to KCs third round pick. [Reply]
