Who knows? California should be ground zero for this virus but it is eerily quiet to date
I've been "advised" every year to get the Seasonal Influenza Vaccine and I've never, ever taken it, although my wife and children do get it every year.

Also, the Seasonal Influenza Vaccine is only about 45% effective and in some years, it's quite a bit lower.

I think the idea of exposure and immunity sound fantastic in theory but it's also just as difficult for me to believe that to be true.

Idk if I phrased that correctly. Hopefully it makes sense.
I would think so, especially considering certain criteria is required to receive the test.

I remember seeing some charts a while back where the flu surveillance system went all wonky in a few states between November and January (Missouri and California were both actually mentioned in article I saw)

But I'm still very much in agreement with you. The idea that this bug was circulating as early as November seems virtually impossible.

My first year of residency in hospitals I was sick all damn year. After that, rarely.
I haven't gotten a flu shot in 20+ years.

In other news - according to Worldomoters, it looks very possible that web may come in with a lower death total as opposed to yesterday.

I can't remember the last time I had the flu but the last time I had a cold of any consequence was 2015.

During that time, I've had kids in preschool, elementary and middle school.

And FWIW, I don't even know if doctors are still prescribing it but the Influenza Nasal Spray is nearly ineffective.

See DaFace's posts a few above yours.

The 77 total is behind the times.

I really wish that every place showing these stats would also show the number of new jobless claims.

I got the flu shot this year (October), and I haven't been sick (knock on wood), but when I was getting it, my Doc basically said it's an educated guess of the potential active strain. Total crapshoot I guess.

Looks like they only have two new deaths. Probably different update times.

Looks like we're still a few weeks out from predicted peak.
