****The OFFICIAL Texans @ Chiefs Super-Bowl-Banner-Raising Game Thread****

We won the Super Bowl. God punished us with a pandemic.

We won the Super Bowl. God punished us with division that we’ve never seen before in this country.

We won the Super Bowl. WE. WON. THE. SUPER. BOWL.

We may have our differences on this board. We may come from different walks of life. We may have different opinions. We may value different things.

But guys, we are ALL Chiefs fans. And we’ve lived through ‘Because Chiefs…’ long enough for pandemics and civil unrest to seem like child’s play.

Our hands are calloused and our hearts are overflowing generously. But we’re together. And we’re all brothers in this crazy world that is ChiefsPlanet. And I will repeat what I said after the Super Bowl: I love all of you.

Let’s forget all the rest of the noise and enjoy this special championship defense. TOGETHER.

The dynasty begins here. Strap in and enjoy yourselves, gentlemen. The ride is going to be magnificent.

HOW…ABOUT…THOSE…CHIEFS???

Here’s an idea.... one that I’m going to do. Tape (DVR) the game... take a nap from
Say, 7-830 (my time, EST) wake up, take a shit, go grab a cold beer and sit on the couch. Then, fast forward through all the political shit and watch the game.

He probably is. Sleep deprivation due to meth use can cause that.

I think most people think that. I saw one of the grounds crew guys on Twitter say that it would destroy the grass to keep it yellow all season. Hopefully they'll still bust them out for big games occasionally.

The Kansas City Chiefs kick off the 2020 season on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium as they prepare to defend their Super Bowl title, but after an offseason in which players made their voices heard in response to social injustice, this game is about so much more than just the final score.

Those voices were brought to the forefront by the senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery earlier this year, which provided a grievous reminder of the inequality that exists in our nation and inspired players across the NFL to take a stand.

And as the Chiefs take the field on Thursday night, they'll each have the opportunity to continue that conversation with custom helmet decals displaying a name or phrase important to them.

Here's a look at every player and coach who will wear a custom helmet decal on Thursday night.

Patrick Mahomes - QB - "It Takes All Of Us"

Tyrann Mathieu - S - "Alton Sterling"

Travis Kelce - TE - "Tamir Rice"

More from Travis: "The challenge of social justice is to evoke a sense of community that we need to make our nation a better place, just as we make it a safer place."

Willie Gay Jr. - LB - "Black Lives Matter"

More from Willie: "I want to make a difference in the world with my platform any way I can."

Antonio Hamilton - DB - "Black Lives Matter"

Demone Harris - DE - "End Racism"

More from Demone: "I chose this phrase because both my family and I have had very personal experiences dealing with racism throughout our lives. As a country, we need to put an end to it and have more equality when it comes to opportunities for people of color."

Chad Henne - QB - "It Takes All Of Us"

More from Chad: "We all need to treat one another how we want to be treated."

Ricky Seals-Jones - TE - "George Floyd"

Tommy Townsend - P - "Stop Hate"
