My initial guess is that he was hauling ass and driving like a prick, probably clipped the curb and that's all she wrote.
I don't know about other states, but CA has a bunch of roads like pictured in the OP and i've seen a number of overturned cars over the years from assholes clipping the curb at 50-60 MPH. [Reply]

TMZ is reporting he left a hotel where there was something being filmed, just about ran into the director on his way out of the parking lot and was driving fast and appeared pissed off.
