Winner gets to push down the NFL player of their choice and stomp on his head.

Poll arriving sometime after the whistle.

Yeah i never realized Garrett had already been building a rep as a dirty player until this morning. Someone went over his transgressions on the radio this morning.

Garrett had this coming.

That's sad.

I don't agree it was a late hit but otherwise I agree with your post. I think Mason was just frustrated for throwing 4 INT's and basically getting his ass kicked all night and being the reason why the Steelers aren't going to the playoffs.

Anyway PFT is reporting he is getting fined so he isn't getting off blameless.

But Rudolph did in fact help create the situation. That is also a fact. But his actions don't mitigate Garrett's ultimate savage attack, which I stated during the game thread.

You keep saying the hit was legal. No, it literally wasn’t. Period

Stop saying people are getting the facts wrong when you’re doing the exact same thing.

You obviously have some sort of agenda here. Whatever it is.

I’ve listened to sports radio for about 5 minutes only today, and I heard Geoff Schwartz, former NFL lineman, call the hit late and unnecessary.

Joe Thomas said the same thing on Rich Eisen

The hit wasn't late at all, go watch it again. Garrett hit him a millisecond after he released the ball. Heck the ref was standing right there and didn't even reach for his flag.

Garrett did alot wrong but the original hit wasn't one of them.

As Geoff Schwartz correctly noted, nothing egregious or even noteworthy happened before Garrett started swinging the helmet. Players get in each other’s faces multiple times a game, hundreds of times a season, and this had never happened before.

Rudolph reacted strongly to what he felt was a late, unnecessary hit, but Garrett’s reaction was so far outside of anything CLOSE to warranted that you HAVE to place the blame on him. All of it.

I’ll take the word of former NFL players, plus my own eyes, if you don’t mind.

I will take expert ref that didn't throw or reach for the flag if you don't mind.

If you honestly think that hit was late then every hit in the NFL would be jfc.

I don't think it was so much a late hit, he grabbed him pretty much right after the ball was out. The problem was that he kept him wrapped up, took him to the ground (long after the ball was out) and then wouldn't let go of him.

In a purely, play to the whistle, it lay til the clock hits zero, it wasn’t a late hit on Rudolph by Garrett. Could he have pulled up and given him a little shove instead, yes, but frankly, I want guys who play every snap like it’s the first snap. I don’t fault Garrett for his play, but afterwards...yeah.

Here is the "late hit". Such an egregious tackle... might as well have given him a "Stone Cold Stunner" with as violent as that takedown was.

If he hit him as Rudy is releasing the ball (meaning his face is buried in Rudy's chest) and can't see if the ball got out or if Rudy is hanging onto it during a sack, AND there is no whistle.... you have to keep dragging the QB down to the ground.

I have zero issues with the hit on the QB. Well... the first one.
