$6.99/lb at a local box grocery chain here this morning, and there were only like 3-4 packages left.

Swung by a Latino market near me for proteins. They're still selling 5lb packages of ground for $1.99/lb. Loaded up on chicken and pork while there. Feel its about to get silly again on store runs.

Packing plant efficiencies are probably a 3rd of what they were before. They have to have social distancing on the line which will cause the production to slow to about 30% of normal from what I understand. That makes it much much more expensive to produce.
