A Hialeah man surrendered Monday to face allegations he killed a bicyclist in an early morning hit-and-run car crash on the MacArthur Causeway last fall.

Authorities say Ledisnier Pordomingo-Lopez, 35, was the man behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger that killed Steven Robert Williams, who was believed to be homeless and was riding a bike along the busy causeway around 1:30 a.m on Aug. 10.

The crash was so violent that Williams, 50, was decapitated, police said. The Charger was traveling over 100 miles per hour, according to an arrest warrant released on Monday.

WEEDSPORT N.Y. — A man investigators say is an undocumented immigrant who was arrested for DWI in October, has been accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly crash in Weedsport over the weekend. Federal immigration officials say the state never should've released him from custody.

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck says Heriberto R. Perez-Velasquez, 31, hit a man driving a compact tractor from behind around 1:45 p.m. Sunday on Rt. 31 in Weedsport.

Mark Knapp, 59, of Weedsport, was ejected and died at the scene, according to the Sheriff.

Knapp was a longtime IBEW Local 43 member, a father, and a husband.

SAN ANTONIO — A suspected drunk driver is facing upgraded charges after she slammed into a Bexar County Sheriff's deputy patrol car and killed one person.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said a family traveling Dec. 22 to Florida for the holidays was stranded on I-10 near Leon Springs due to an accident. A Bexar County deputy arrived to the accident and parked his patrol car about 75 feet from the accident. While the family waited for emergency crews to clear the accident a young child waited in the patrol car along with the deputy, Salazar said.

At that time Salazar said Natalie Saldana, 30, was speeding at about 90 miles per hour and slammed into the deputy's patrol car. The patrol car was struck with such force that it launched it 75 feet forward. The suspect's vehicle then struck a barrier and then the left side of the tow truck.

As the patrol car was rolling over, it struck a woman and then a man, pinning him between the patrol car and tow truck. The victim, identified as Fredrick Jolayemi, was rushed to the hospital by Air Life with severe head injuries. Although doctors did perform surgery to save his life, he passed away on Dec. 24, a few minutes before Christmas Day.

The deputy and the young child were injured in the accident, but made it out safely, Salazar said.

Saldana faces new charges for intoxication manslaughter. She was originally facing charges for intoxication assault while the man was treated at the hospital.

According to the police report, Saldana told deputies she was coming from a graduation party and that she had four vodka drinks. A warrant was issued to obtain blood after reasonable suspicion of impairment existed.

Saldana's bail is set at $100,000.

The family, originally planning on visiting relatives for the holidays, is now making funeral arrangements.
