In order to prevent us wasting precious years of Patrick Mahomes' career, Veach needs to work some magic this offseason. What's your advice for him? [Reply]

For all we know, we have the 3-down LB we need already in Willie Gay. Or you know, we could have spent a 1st round pick on Patrick fucking Queen. [Reply]
3 down lb would be nice but unless something crazy value wise happened like JOK or Parsons dropping out of the top ten it doesn't make sense in the 1st.
Let the Buffalo's of the world waste a pick on a Nick Bolton late 1. [Reply]
ILB would be so unnecessary early in the draft anyhow.
They love Hitchens, and you can tell they are really excited about Gay. Even posted a video of his highlights yesterday on the team account and said they ‘can’t wait to see his development’..
That’s your starters. Sure we could use depth, but picking one in the first round, even the 2nd, is irresponsible in regards to the rest of the roster where several needs exist. If the grades are close, you gotta take one of those other positions. [Reply]

Disagree...too many times tight ends go off against on this defense because the linebackers can't cover...and Hitchens is not good enough either!!..they've been forced to give him the keys because of the terrible contract Veach gave him...but enough is enough. If a stud lb falls to 31st we should take him imo as it would improve this defense without question...time to give Pat a decent defense now. [Reply]

Why did we even draft Willie Gay then if we have to go take another ILB?
He barely played last year. When he did, he flashed game changing ability. Can we give the kid a shot?
We don’t need two sideline to sideline LBs. That would be a luxury. But again, they aren’t replacing Hitchens yet. His mental game is something the staff loves, his leadership, and honestly he was solid this year.
We need immediate upgrades at several other positions if we are going to get back to the SB. [Reply]

Once again the staff don't "love" Hitch imo...they've been forced to adapt to the reality that he had a big contract I believe...because no-one can convince me that he's anything but average...and we need to improve that spot both in the run game and covering tight ends and running backs. You talk about upgrades in other spots but imo LB is one of the weakest position groups we have on the roster...and something has to give. [Reply]

Totally agree..it's a position that has been terrible since DJ left and people think putting average guys in there will suffice? Not for me. Colins, Bolton, Moses etc I'll take any one of these guys with the first two picks without question. [Reply]

LB's don't cover good TE's in the NFL.
Good TE's draw DB's in coverage and more often than not, double teams of safeties and CB's.
Drafting a LB in the first would be possibly the worst pick they could make. They'd be better off taking another RB. [Reply]

How many playoff games did DJ win?
DJ was a complete waste of a draft pick in hindsight. Great player but ultimately a LB. The only time he played on a defense that was worth a shit was when he had pass rushers in front of him and DB's behind him.
That's what makes an NFL defense go, more than anything else. [Reply]

They can certain help against tight ends...and did you watch what Mccafrey did to our lb's last season? The best defenses have good lb's who can go sideline to sideline..so no, it would not be a terrible pick imo. [Reply]
