There's an issue where Rick and Carl are trying to get somewhere (not sure which ish) and Rick is pinned down by some bad guys while they're on the road. They tell Rick that they're going to rape carl and explain exactly how they're going to do it.
Rick loses his shit and kills all 3 of them more violently than you'd think he was capable of.
I keep thinking of this issue. The writers stated they did this (Carl bite) to motivate Rick to listen to Carl's perspective. I just don't see the character of Rick doing that.
I'd see him letting go and doing everything possible to murder Neegan.

It's a horrible decision by Gimple. The pussification of Rick is not what anyone wants and it's the opposite of what made this series must watch TV for years. But no more. Now we watch to see how it ends and I hope they end it next season. [Reply]

I'll admit that only over the last two seasons did I care about Carl.
Only over the last two did he actually contribute.
These last two eps though he got his chance to shine - and I think he did as an actor.
