We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Testing more per capita doesnt mean anything........ We have tested over a million people. They are nowhere close to that number.

Right?

I'm sure this won't yield a complete clusterfuck and isn't EXACTLY what healthcare leaders were trying to avoid...

I received this text at 1:40 PST:

City of Los Angeles Advisory

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti urges LA residents to wear a face covering when doing essential tasks in public.

The face coverings do not have to be hospital grade, but need to cover the nose and mouth. For example, bandanas, fabric masks and neck gaiters are acceptable and can be washed and used again.

Everyone performing essential tasks such as food shopping should wear homemade, non-medical face coverings or even bandanas. Mayor Garcetti stressed that people shouldn't wear medical-grade masks, which are in short supply and are needed by healthcare workers and first responders.

I'm looking for it. Pretty much said not to use N95 or surgical masks (needed for HCW). Sounded more makeshift.

Of course per capita means something. Total numbers mean less.

It would be comical if it weren't so sad how government on every level has fucked this shit up. Yall have had 3 months to prepare now you're encouraging people to hoard med supplies. So what happens with our shortage when front line medical workers get sick?

considering 90% of tests are still negative id say the total number tested means more. as of March 15th they had only tested 30k to Germanys 160k

Testing numbers really don't mean much. With false negatives, only testing extremely ill etc.

They think the actual number is atleast 100x what the positive number is right now.

BCG (TB) vaccine might protect against Covid19. Vaccinated Older people less likely to die. BCG could be a ‘game-changer’. Australia is fast tracking testing of BCG vaccination for health workers. Mechanism involves what’s called innate immune memory. https://t.co/C0FyBAmnyy
