Nzoner's Game Room>Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes?
Deberg_1990 06:55 PM 11-28-2019
We are starting to see some people saying Josh Allen is/will be better than Patrick Mahomes. I think it’s ridiculous, but there are people that feel that way. I was wondering if anyone here would choose Josh over Mahomes. So the choice is simple: who would you rather have as QB for the next 12 years? Allen Or Mahomes?

There isn't a single thing Allen does as well as Mahomes except maybe running with the football, and that's debatable.

Yeah they've been saying that shit on the podcast for the last few days.

That's nice and all.

Some people thought Mitchel Trubisky was a better prospect than Mahomes and Watson.

Some people thought Tua was a better prospect than Herbert.

Some people thought Matt fucking Cassel was a starting QB in this league.

Some people thought Tim Tebow was a 1st round QB

....there's a lot of stupid opinions in this league.

It's the same stupid bullshit it ever was, "wow look at how BIG he is...". Evaluators who get enamored with size and overlook less tangible traits.

Allen has the more traditional build and size of an NFL QB and some of these evaluators can't get over size.

Mahomes' rushing ability is underrated, but Allen is undoubtedly a more dangerous runner. Plus, i think Allen's probably got a slight edge in arm strength.

Other than that, yeah, Mahomes is superior in pretty much every category i can think of..

Honestly josh has come a loooong way and is very near Mahomes equal. He might beat Mahomes someday. I just don’t think it’s going to be this Sunday.

He has come a long way.

He's very very good.

He's NOWHERE near Mahomes' equal.

One of them averages 2.6 total TD's per game.

The other averages 2.1 total TD's per game.

Only one of them is one of 3 players to throw for 5000 yards and 50 TD's in a season. Only one of them has been a league MVP. Only one of them has been a Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes has been kicking ass for 3 fucking seasons.

He’s 5-1 in playoff games.

Super Bowl MVP.

They aren’t in the same stratosphere until Allen starts winning the BIG games.

Josh Allen is a Joe Flacco that can run like a fullback.

Patrick Mahomes is a Brett Favre/Aaron Rodgers hybrid.

Even the rushing stats don't say Allen is clearly superior...only that he gets more rushing opportunities in goal-to-go situations.

Allen reminds me alot of Roethlisberger, big guy, takes chances, thinks he can run over Dlinemen.

Yep.

He has more TD's, that's really it.

Mahomes has 172 carries for 808 yards. Allen has 300 carries for 1572 yards - Mahomes 4.7ypc and Allen 5.2ypc.

The real difference is that Mahomes has only 48 carries in the red zone and only 14 this season. Allen has 96 total and 37 this season alone.

Allen is actually bigger than normal for a QB.

Allen has a higher YPC average, significantly more TDs, he's bigger, faster, stronger.

He's a more dangerous rusher.

Here’s an interesting advanced metric on QB rushing effectiveness
