Neither of those factors in at the NFL level now.
I think the Jags just did the one thing they could to **** up their current situation.
He'll be picking at the top of each round this year and the Jags have a fuck ton of cap. So it's likely he might have alot of talent on this team when its said and done
Smith was a 2* QB went 1 overall
Denzel Ward was a 3* went top 10
Joe Burrow was a 3*
Johnathan Hankins was a 3*
Bradley Roby was a 3* WR in high school
Eric Weddle was a 2*
Malik Hooker was a 3*
Pat Elefin was a 3*
Darron Lee was a 3* dual threat QB
That's not even the full list but let's not act like the guy just won with 4* 5* guys he definitely developed talent as well.
From his introductory press conference it sounds like Urban plans to avoid burnout by hiring an “elite” staff and serve as more of a CEO type... his words.

This is the answer.
The Jaguars ticket department says 50% of their season ticket deposits came just yesterday after hiring Urban Meyer... they are 8X ahead of prior seasons pace

The #Jaguars are expected to hire Trent Baalke as their GM, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. The top internal candidate, he stays to work with new coach Urban Meyer. The deal isn’t done and official, but it is slated to be soon.

Nice theory, let’s see how that will work out.
I don't think meyer will work out. But that gives a chance it could actually work. Shitty ass schemes. But he knows how to coach and run a team.

Yup he needs really good scheme guys for this to work. Disaster if he's really thinking about Linehan or strong. We'll see if baalke has balls in this relationship.
Jags are hiring Joe Cullen, Ravens DL coach, to be their DC. Another “meh” hire at best.
I’d imagine Scott Linehan will be announced soon since a report from a couple days ago said they were focusing on Linehan and Cullen for their coordinator positions.
Jaguars are hiring former Chiefs and Jets defensive coordinator Bob Sutton as a senior defensive assistant, according to league sources. A former Army head coach, Sutton was a senior defensive assistant for the Falcons last season
