I did a 5.03 mile run yesterday without ever going 100 feet from my house. Down the front steps, go two houses north, turn, go two houses south, back up the steps, around the house, into the garage, out the alley up and back two houses, then repeat about a hundred times.
I probably won't do that again. All of the abrupt u-turns wrought havoc on my knees.
Went to the lake yesterday, me and my son Mason. We stopped to grab a couple beers to drink while at the lake. The guy behind the counter had gloves on and wearing a mask, ok ....cool. So we put the beers in the ice chest and headed on up.
The park at the lake...closed. So we find a place to pull over, get out and drink a beer.
Nobody on the lake, nobody on the roads, it was as if the world had stood still, yep....eerie.
We simply got tired of being stuck in the house, had to get out. Won't do it again until this is over. [Reply]
I had an epic day today. We drove to the bank drive through to get some cash, and we went to the UPS store to pick up a package that for some reason couldn't be delivered to us. It was my first time getting out since this whole thing started, so I felt like a dog being taken to the park. And then we ordered restaurant delivery for the first time. I hadn't had restaurant food in a month, though I was bummed that they messed up my order. [Reply]
Pretty much everything is in stock at the grocery store here except pasta, beans, toilet paper and paper towels, which the idiots are still hoarding. There's plenty of food.
And the antibacterial cleaning products - the regular stuff is all stocked up... despite the fact that a virus is not a bacterium...
This is all in spite of the fact that we have about 30 deaths in the state at this point, and the median age as of yesterday was ~85 years old [Reply]
