Media Center>I'm Finally Giving Up My Flip Phone
Dinny Bossa Nova 08:12 PM 01-05-2018
I fear change.

I got underwear that are part of...

Well...

Let's talk about Dinny's new phone!

Don't care about internet GBs. Want to take good low-light videos & pics with a good mic w/overload protect with lots of storage space.

You know, for like, band stuff.

And I want the texts I receive to not be a bunch of gobbledy-gook.

Hate .MOV files. Want Microsoft friendly? Or what?

TIA

I intend to use the camera to video my practice work @ home and our rehearsal work @ ummm, rehearsal.

I don't do most of those things you mention, Dane. I do wear clothes when I wear anything at all, and I'm real partial to food when it comes to eating.

Having said all that.

I have downloaded the Manual for the Note 8. Got it half soaked up. This thing has a translator built in. If it does Brazilian Portuguese I am absolutely going to puddle.

Has a heart rate monitor thing.

I hope I can get Gilbert Gottfried's voice on the GPS, but not a deal-breaker.

Going to the phone store Friday with my homework done, I hope.

As far as the flip-phone goes, I would still use it if not for texts I receive from some (not all) contacts being all garbled.

I'll cope.

Got the new Note 8 Friday. Spent the weekend in the manual whipping it into shape.

Love the translator. Love the S-Pen.

The camera is other-worldly.

Still some aggravating little quirks yet to solve. Will be testing the GPS on my Memphis trip this week.

Overall, I say this new phone is positively ducky.

Now you just need to learn how to flash a custom ROM before Touchwiz starts to bog down the phone and it begins to stutter.

Congrats, enjoy. Nicely done on getting your research in first.

That's what I use for a smartphone. You're going to go through a pretty steep learning curve going from a flip phone to an S8. Don't be afraid to ask question and Google is your friend.

EDIT: replied before getting through the thread...
