I loved how right off the bat they establish Thanos' strength with him beating the absolute shit out of the Hulk. That put everyone...especially those not familiar with the comics...on notice as to how powerful the dude really is.

Even so, I didn't care for how they made the Hulk puss out after that. I think it would have just made the Hulk madder, and then stronger since rage makes him nearly infinitely stronger the madder he gets. [Reply]
I'm late to the party in here, but what are the odds on? Multiverse just appeared at the snap? Strange did, in fact, throw them into the mirror dimension? Everyone is "dead" and the OG Avengers will have one last hurrah together to save the day? Maybe a pull back at the end of Deadpool2 to reveal Wade has been reading a comic book in a burn ward somewhere all along and giggles at Thanos' chin? [Reply]

Yeah I didn't like that either...nor Ruffalo as the comic relief [Reply]
They did a good job with that, though. They needed to establish that Thanos was in that strength class while also being a seasoned fighter. That knee to the face and throat chop followed by the body slam really made you feel it. And it was a quick fight, which makes sense. The Hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets, if you want to beat him, you'll need to do it quickly before he gets into a real rage.
Plus, they kind of leaned on the whole "we have a Hulk" thing for too long now. He annihiliated Loki and Thanos' minions in NYC, Ultron and his bots in Sokovia and was the grand champion in the arena for years in Ragnarok. It was about time he met his match.
They're setting this up nicely. He'll go into an insane rage in the next movie, presumably when Black Widow is in danger, and it'll be awesome. [Reply]

He shouldn't because he's actually won somewhere or at some time. [Reply]
