Media Center>Movies about wilderness/survival
TimBone 05:54 PM 04-25-2016
Sorry about the shitty thread title. I wasn't sure how to word it.

I've been on a kick lately its movies about people being out in the wilderness. It doesn't matter if they're stranded or out there by choice, I'm just into the genre in general at the moment.

Off the top of my head I've seen Jeremiah Johnson, The Edge, Alive, Wild, and Into the White.

I'm looking for recommendations on great wilderness/survival movies.

What do you guys know?

I am very happy to see that Alone in the Wilderness and Naked Prey have already been mentioned. Both are great.

Would The Flight of the Phoenix (1965) qualify?

Inferno (1953) and its made for tv remake Ordeal (1973) may also be of interest. Deliver Us from Evil (1973) is also a pretty good made for tv movie that you may like.

I forgot to mention Papillon with Steve McQueen. Great movie that also has Dustin Hoffman.

No, I read about it. Gonna check netflix, amazon, or Xbox vid on my next weekend.

I did order that Alone in the Wilderness documentary from Amazon. It was kinda pricey, but I really want to watch it.

So, it happened to be trending on Netflix the other day, and I watched it out of convenience. I actually enjoyed it. Thanks, Mike. I probably would have skipped watching if it wasn't for your post.

Caught this one too! It put my wife to sleep, hahaha! I enjoyed it, though. It's certainly dated at this point, but the story kept me watching. Not bad. Thanks, Nzoner!
