Rumors are that Illinois wasn't going to give him his release before this weekend precisely because they didn't want him down here with Porter, Knox and Harris this weekend.
Illinois still thinks they can stay in this because of Walker so they'll play nice...but not TOO nice. They know that they'd get blown out of the water if he came down this weekend so they're going to stall a little.
With a kid that's been a pretty notorious flake to this point in his recruitment, that's probably wise. [Reply]

I was just going to ask if he could even visit until he is released from his LOI. I would assume not. [Reply]
Just think all Pete Bell would have to do is offer a blue chip kids dad a job and he wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble and we could have had a Blue Chips II! [Reply]

Nope. Can't win with only 1 stud and a garbage coach, as Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz proved last 2 years. Pete Bell needed Neon PLUS [Reply]

Mizzou is going to get at least 1 more 5* and maybe a few more after that. They'll be a talented team next year. [Reply]

Illinois won't do it, but they could use the reason of Mizzou being on the schedule every year as a reason to release him, but not let him go to Mizzou.
It's been a strange several days with him. He reconfirmed his commitment over Twitter over the weekend and then 2 days later he requested his release. [Reply]

literally not possible. They either release him or they don't. There are no caveats. [Reply]
