See, you're taking a stance where the two choices are life as before, or everything is shut down. It's all black and white. It's not like that. I don't give a crap about the grandparents BS. A lot of people are still going to lose their jobs. Once things re-open, there's going to be no safety net to hide behind. Everyone's going to be on their own.

But maybe I'm wrong. I've argued it since March. The economy isn't recovering until people can move about without worrying about this thing. There's no way to hide from it. And a lot of people are going to lose jobs because people aren't spending money. It's going to be ugly.

Your grandparents are not likely to go to a football game. Hell if you have grandparents who are not young, they are likely sitting their ass at home anyway.

The thing we should be worried about is Andy Reid due to him being a prime target for this shit. Put him in the booth with a headset and have him looked at at all times.

What safety net is there to hide behind now?

I have a sister. A half-sister to be specific. Turns 18 in a month. She has a little sister, about 12.

Her mom (my ex-step mom) and her dad are now unemployed because of this (they both worked at a hotel).

They, a family of 4, are surviving right now off of charity work from people they know through Church. They're "lucky" enough to know a few people at church who literally are making up work for them to do around their homes so they can pay them.

They get their meals through Church events and Food banks. If they want to eat dinner, they need to go wait in line at Church. They don't make enough money to pay their rent, and barely make enough to sustain themselves.

Let me be clear here, Mecca. I like you. You're cool people.

But we all got stories of friends and loved ones.

And i care far more about the well being of mine, who need society opened back up so they can sustain themselves, than i do about yours.

And you've demonstrated that you care far more about yours than you do mine.

And that's fine. You should. Your responsibility as an adult should be to take care of yours first. That is your job and priority as a man.

I don't take it personal that you'd rather my sister suffer and have her life turned upside down because of fear that the elderly in your family might get sick. I don't take it personally at all. I completely understand.

But you, and everyone else who thinks like you should understand, and not take it personally when we say we don't give a good-goddamn about your fears and concerns and not even the threat of death will change our minds to allow your concerns to supersede the concerns we have for our own.

So spare me the dramatics about how people you know and love are at risk.

We're all dealing with SOMETHING.
The entire thing blows, there isn't a real good solution at this point for really any side.

In addition, one of those individuals in New York — a man in New Rochelle just north of the city — happened to be what is called a superspreader; for whatever reason, whether immunological, social or biological, a superspreader can infect many more people than expected for a particular pathogen. In fact, the virus was passed from this New Rochelle man to more than 100 others, said George Rutherford, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

"New York had multiple, multiple, multiple introductions from Europe and also had the misfortune to have a superspreader at the beginning," said Rutherford, noting that "superspreader" is not a pejorative term and simply refers to the super-spreading phenomenon.

I think he's referencing that lots of things like electric, gas etc are prolonging their bills out where before long they won't be.

There are going to be a ton of jobs that don't come back when things are open there isn't going to be very black and white.

Maybe that's where we see things differently. I think it's highly likely that we'll have improved treatments and a vaccine in the next year or so, so I don't agree that everyone's going to be infected. Therefore, from my view, taking reasonable steps (like not filling NFL stadiums with fans) makes sense to keep the fatalities as low as possible until those treatments can help.

Since you deleted your post I’m assuming you saw I did in fact already say that.

Opening up in some parts of the country make sense. Others, not so much.

And if there is never a vaccine developed, then what?

Also the economic impact of no fans for a place like Green Bay or even in KC with all the local businesses that are impacted by a home football weekend would be nothing short of catastrophic.

And I thought super spreader was another term for a porn star.

I decided it wasn't worth the battle. You didn't mention it until long after the discussion began, but you did indeed mention it.
