Saw this earlier today. I enjoyed it but not as much as all my friends who said it was "AMAZING" and what not...

My biggest issues were the final fight scene, resurrection stone, and students of Hogwarts. The final fight scene, I thought, was just a bit too anticlimactic. I knew it was going to be something with the wand defecting after they talked to the man at the beginning who said "the wand chooses it's master" and it began cracking during the attack on Hogwarts. It wasn't too big of an issue for me, just a bit meh so I figured I'd say something about it.
Then there's the resurrection stone. What.. in the.. ****? It has the power to bring people back from the dead, yet Harry didn't bother to bring back his loved ones. All he did was have a pep talk with them. Shit, he should have brought back Dumbledore and had him rip shit up. That's what I was hoping would happen when we found out about the stone in Part I... Actually now that I think of it, he had all three magic items at certain points in the film and just discards them like nobody's business (except the invisibility cloak)... BUUUULLSHIT!
And the last big problem I had was the students of Hogwarts. What the hell were they doing? I don't think I saw a single one of them cast a spell when Hogwarts was under attack. What have they been learning for the past 8 years in that school, how to run around and be helpless? That just pissed me off, although Neville Longbottom is kind of a pimp right about now.

For the people who paid attention to Deathly Hallows part 1 they would remember that the resurrection stone doesn't bring people back from the dead and return them to their former state of glory. It returns them to a zombie like being that maddens the person who brought them back. Luna's father told that story to Harry in part 1.

I'm going to see it as a friend's treat a second time. Not because I liked the movie(meh after thinking about it) but because this is going to be my first 3D experience and I wonder if it'll make the movie better. [Reply]

I haven't seen it from the theater with glasses on but, just going by the scenes in the film, it doesn't seem like the 3D would do much.
However, I did just see "Captain America" in 3D and I must say that I think the studios and directors are getting more used to 3D and the proper way to utilize it. The 3D was mainly subdued and in the background, and aside from a few blatant scenes of his shield coming at the camera I pretty much forgot I was watching a 3D movie. [Reply]
