Washington DC and The Holy Land>Disturbing Things Said By 2019 Dem House Freshmen
vailpass 11:48 AM 01-25-2019
There are some Freshmen 2019 Congress people who are showing early signs that they will be promoting controversial points of view not in keeping with traditional American view points. It's still early but they will be interesting to watch as especially once the government reopens.

Reps Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib, Alexandria Cortez, and others promise to make things interesting.

For starters, here's one from Omar.

Rep. Ilhan Omar faces backlash after claiming Trump is backing ‘coup’ in Venezuela

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing a social media backlash after accusing President Trump of backing a “coup” in the socialist-led country of Venezuela even though Nicolas Maduro’s government is considered largely illegitimate by much of the international community.

“A US backed coup in Venezuela is not a solution to the dire issues they face,” Omar tweeted. “Trump’s efforts to install a far right opposition will only incite violence and further destabilize the region. We Must support Mexico, Uruguay, & the Vatican’s efforts to facilitate a peaceful dialogue.”

The U.S. and other nations on Wednesday took the step of recognizing Juan Guaido, the opposition head of the National Assembly, as the interim president of Venezuela. Maduro was elected last year in a vote widely seen as fraudulent.

Omar’s response provoked a fierce backlash on social media.

* The opposition is not far-right

* The idea that there is no violence at the moment, or that it's the result of US policy rather than Nicolas Maduro, is absurd

As the vastly differing stances by Sanders and Omar show, the left of the Dems is much less united than people think. https://t.co/T2ch125uWC

— Yascha Mounk (@Yascha_Mounk) January 25, 2019

Omar was at the center of another Twitter controversy earlier this week when she made unsubstantiated accusations against the Covington Catholic students who had the viral confrontation with Native American elder Nathan Phillips.

She also was criticized for claiming that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was “compromised” and that Israel has “hypnotized” the world.

This is not even a slap on the wrist. This is the democrats trying to make the problem go away without more bad press. Gee we did something without actually doing anything.
What do you suggest they do, over and above the public slap on the wrist?

She said "things" as in multiple items, multiple times.

You are correct she should have been called out and I'll give you credit as a Dem for acknowledging that but the pressure came not from the Democrats but from their powerful Jewish donors, including Hollywood and Wall Street.

It is not a slap on the wrist. If the Democrat party thinks anti-Semitic views are bad then there should be real consequences for holding those views. Like remove her from the committee assignments.

But see there are a number of Democrats who openly spout anti-Semitic beliefs and the the party does not want to offend those people. Just ask them to tone it down some and if you get too over the top maybe apologize. But lets not offend the Farrakhan supporters and confront such views as evil.

I honestly don't know how bad it has to be before that happens. The indicted Pub from San Diego got his yanked. If course, he's been indicted.

No room for that element in the Democratic Party. They are a bunch of anti-Semitic assholes, and don't even try to hide it.

Too bad the liberal media aren't reporting this. If they had, we could have an honest discussion about a Dem who fucked up.

But since the lib media conspire with the Democratic Party, and have hidden this development from us, we are unable to discuss it.

You think the biggest takeaway from this is CNN and MSNBC reporting on it?

Thats bigger than acknowledging 2 states have elected at least 2 Jew hating racist Muslims into office?

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján, Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries and Caucus Vice Chair Katherine Clark issued this joint statement condemning anti-Semitic comments made over Twitter by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar:

“Anti-Semitism must be called out, confronted and condemned whenever it is encountered, without exception.

“We are and will always be strong supporters of Israel in Congress because we understand that our support is based on shared values and strategic interests. Legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate that the United States and Israel share. But Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive. We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments.

“As Democrats and as Americans, the entire Congress must be fully engaged in denouncing and rejecting all forms of hatred, racism, prejudice and discrimination wherever they are encountered.”

Why is Minneapolis liberal?

One would think Minnesota would be conservative.
