Quite frankly, I'd probably not say anything and just watch out for symptoms.

They're creating a negative incentive to report.

Is this some kind of "gotcha" scenario to prove that I'm a shitty person?

No I reported to my employer what I was doing over Thanksgiving break. Well 4 other people that work around me told me what their plans were, including going out of state and spending several days doing as much. They were adamant about not reporting and how I was setting a bad precedent if the rest do not report.

To me, not reporting is one thing, but putting negative pressure on you is much worse. I can't stand when people do that kind of thing.

Well I feel pressure because if they go and then work finds out they are going to think I squealed. That is what pisses me off.

Worth being aware of just to manage expectations - the vaccine itself could prove to be a bit unpleasant.

Early trials of several Covid-19 vaccines suggest that consumers will need to be prepared for side effects that, while technically mild, could disrupt daily life, data shows. https://t.co/RSihMBfYaV

I think some fever and aches are pretty tolerable if you know that 1) you aren't going to die and 2) you aren't going to be spreading something potentially lethal to your grandmother when you hug her on her 90th birthday.

Agreed. Still, with a chunk of the population who is wary of it, telling them that they might end up having to take a day or two off of work to recover isn't going to help things. It's worth making sure people are aware of the (expected) side effects so we don't end up with a wave of "OMG the vaccine gave me COVID!!!" reactions.

Chicago issues a stay home order

https://chicago.suntimes.com/city-ha...ving-lightfoot

The stay-home advisory takes effect at 6 a.m. Monday and lasts 30 days. Chicagoans are urged to leave home only for work, school, medical appointments, groceries, take-out food and pharmaceuticals.

The 10-person limit on meetings and social events also takes effect at 6 a.m. on Monday.
