Most of the time a player that is tooled up with these plate discipline warts doesn't work out.
It was also a perfect storm with Texas. They were shitty in spring training of 2021, so they could afford to play a 28-year-old who shined in the Cactus League. Garcia could have easily been a career Triple-A guy if he didn't land in the right situation.

Somewhat, the Dexter Fowler contract was more the issue. Arozerna actually hit well in the minors and his tools were easily more apparent than Carlsons. You probably could have dealt Carlson instead back then if we could evaluate our own talent well.
