Not Cardinals but ran into this pic.

Yankees had spring training in St. Pete. A beach about 15 minutes away is Pass-A-Grille beach. Here is Babe Ruth jogging on the beach in 1930.

Twelve years ago today, the greatest baseball game of all time was played.

A hometown kid put the city on his back and the name David Freese became immortal in St. Louis.

Most of the time a player that is tooled up with these plate discipline warts doesn't work out.

It was also a perfect storm with Texas. They were shitty in spring training of 2021, so they could afford to play a 28-year-old who shined in the Cactus League. Garcia could have easily been a career Triple-A guy if he didn't land in the right situation.
Those numbers remind me of Juan Gonzalez and now he's raking like semi prime Juan

Logjam. No room for him, Garcia OR Arozarena.

Fragile muscle man spends about half of every season on the DL :-)

Somewhat, the Dexter Fowler contract was more the issue. Arozerna actually hit well in the minors and his tools were easily more apparent than Carlsons. You probably could have dealt Carlson instead back then if we could evaluate our own talent well.

They are just as inept with pitching.

Arozarena got traded because he recorded a lockerroom speech.

Because somber and grumpy is the new Cardinal Way. That's why we couldn't sign Harper. He enjoys the game.

Need more guys like DeJong, Arenado and Goldschmidt who all play with the joy of passing a kidney stone.

Well at least we got to have a couple of years with Drew Robinson as our 4th outfielder as a result. :-)

A special regular season game between the @Cardinals and @SFGiants will take place at Rickwood Field on June 20, 2024 on FOX

Did you know he attempted suicide? Can't recall how I stumbled onto it. Blew half his face off; missing an eye these days but survived.

Seems like he's doing better. Even came back and played a few games in AAA for SFG in 2021 and now does mental health awareness stuff.
