I discovered Lee Childs Jack Reacher stories about 10 years ago, what a great read. Usually we find Reacher hitch hiking, as he wanders the USA, somebody will eventually pick him up despite having a hulkish look at 6-6 260ish. And our story begins.
When I heard there was going to be a movie, yep, excited. But........Tom Cruise? How can the 5-8 170 (guessing) sell the huge Jack Reacher? In the stories the size of Reacher is a constant, we get it.....big bad hombre. Tom Cruise a big bad hombre......nay!
X pro rassler/current actor Dave Batista.....perfect.
If a movie is based on a literary character why not stay as close as possible to the story?
I guess the worst casting job ever was John Wayne as Ghanghis Ghan, What were they thinking? [Reply]

Spoiler!
So many guys shooting at Reacher and friends with automatic weapons and just can seem to score a hit. And the detective whose car just can't be stopped.
Biggest complaint I have is that Reacher has 'God Mode' turned on. He's never wrong. He's never injured.
Everybody saying "Hey, Swan's dirty" and Reacher won't admit it. So you KNOW he isn't. It's just a matter of giving us the 'twist' that proves that Reacher was right all along.
I don't mind a damn competent protagonist but the problem with Reacher's infallibility is that it becomes a Chekov's Gun of sorts. His unwavering belief in Swan gives the story away because you know he's going to be proven right in the end. [Reply]

I agree. It happens way too often. Too many of the people who make these things think 'if a little bit does a little good then a lot of it has to do a lot of good' and it sucks.
I'll watch the rest of this season but I doubt I'll invest much time in any more of it. [Reply]
Have to agree with both of you. This season has been a complete let down and I loved the first season. It was great even if some of the things you guys mentioned happened a bit in that season as well. The first season just seemed to work. It is almost like the writers just dialed it in on this one. I still enjoy it for what it is, but yes, they need to put a little more effort into the writing. Unfortunately I think that's a symptom of many TV shows and movies these days. Writing talent seems to be lacking. [Reply]
The fact that Amazon refuses to give me a little gratuitous nudity with Dixon just makes me angry.
My word she's good lookin'
And there isn't a look she couldn't pull off. You want upscale professional? Done. Insecure secretary - she'll rock a 9.5 there. Slutty nurse/stripper - she'd kill it.

Total package of hot.
She looks good in military dress, jeans and a t-shirt, and my lord how she rocked that dinner dress (couldn't find an image, dammit).
To steal Buehler's line - I'd win wars for her. [Reply]
