Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

Seems to be real high praise saying Affleck is the best Batman to date.

Just skipped to the last paragraph. Kind of doubting this...

I skipped the spoilery bits but it was positive. And detailed. Could be a plant. Could be genuine. No way to know. It does reflect a lot of what I've seen on Twitter.

Should get more when the embargo lifts. No movie's ever 100% for everyone.

Who knows, but when someone equates it to Kahn or ESB I assume fanboy. I've been avoiding reviews and spoilers myself.

Wow! So, is this some major PR stunt with the + reviews and then it sucks- I can't remember a movie with such a wide discrepancy in feedback

@BatmanNewsCom: I think fans will love #BatmanvSuperman! For me, it was way better than Man of Steel. Very cinematic, very moody, and great pacing.

Most of the fans of comics in general that I've seen have had positive reviews and recommend seeing it. I tend to go with those guys but man this is a rough start with critics.

The 20 reviews on RT so far are all 'film' reviewers. So I'm not too surprised by the early score. If the geek sites are all negative it'll worry me a bit more. Honestly I really only follow about 5 sites online. Most of the mainstream/major media reviewers are usually polar opposite of me, personally.

Yeah most of the geek due hard fan sites are positive. Still not the best but it's fun and a good start to the DC universe. Most those sites are saying 'turn off film Twitter or we warned you about film' Twitter. Up to 39%
